LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting that killed a woman and seriously injured a man early Saturday morning.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a report of a shooting in the 4600 block of West Sahara Avenue around 12:32 a.m. Arriving officers located a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds behind an Avis Car Rental in the area.
The woman would die at the scene and the man would be transported to UMC, where he remains in critical condition.
An investigation revealed that the two exited the business and were confronted by a man. An argument would begin between the three before the man would produce a handgun and shoot the two victims.
On Monday, the suspect was identified as 37-year-old Frederick Lee Blanche Jr. and taken into custody in Buckeye, Ariz. by local law enforcement. He was booked into a local detention facility and is awaiting extradition to Las Vegas on multiple felony charges, including murder.
