LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas animal rescue is offering free microchips for pets as a mandatory ordinance started this month.
Starting August, the City of Las Vegas made microchips mandatory for all pets. PAWsitive Difference says they are hosting a microchipping, vaccine and adoption event Saturday.
It’s starting at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the PetSmart located at 1261 South Decatur Boulevard.
Organizers say participants who need low-cost vaccines should bring vaccine records. Services will be provided while supplies last or as time permits.
The rescue says microchipping helps lost pets be reunited with their owners and reduce strain at valley shelters.
The rescue has been operating for 9 years.
