LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Formula 1 is returning to the Las Vegas Strip for the second straight year this November, but it appears that demand for the event, so far, is not where it was last summer.
That’s according to MGM Resorts Executives who said during a Wednesday earnings call that sales are off to a soft start and that room rates at hotels closer to the circuit are about 50% less this year.
But executives maintain optimism that sales will go up closer to race weekend, on Nov. 21-23.
They also feel that hotels on the south end of the Strip will fill up since the Raiders are set to host the Denver Broncos on Nov. 24. The Raiders were out of town last year during F1.
