LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Clark County School District Board of Trustees decided how much the next superintendent could make, once hired.
The board approved a salary range of $350,000 to $400,000 in a special meeting Thursday. The Trustees said that this is the range that will be posted for the candidate search.
The search firm hired to conduct the search said that depending on negotiations with the finalist, the salary could end up higher.
By comparison, former superintendent Dr. Jesus Jara’s annual salary was nearly $400,000 when he stepped down. Interim superintendent Brenda Larsen Mitchell’s salary stands at $320,000.
CCSD’s timeline shows that an online survey for leadership priorities will be posted in August and the board aims to schedule interviews in October, with a finalist to be chosen by the end of that month.
