LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A pedestrian is fighting for his life Thursday morning after being struck by a car while crossing the street.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the man was struck while crossing Nellis Boulevard, near Boulder Highway, outside of a marked crosswalk.
At the time of the crash, a dark-colored SUV was traveling northbound on Nellis when the pedestrian entered its travel lane.
The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene, and police do not suspect impairment at this time.
The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, but all lanes in the area have reopened.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
