To the right, ladies are dancing on their chairs. To the left, sparklers are waving in the air, carried by a parade of cocktail servers escorting a magnum of champagne to a table. In front, the DJ is spinning base-thumping house music. To the back, a table consumes a 3-pound lobster frittata and the biggest cocktail you’ve ever seen, The Ultimate Bloody Mary. It’s just another Saturday afternoon at the bacchanalian affair known as Lavo Party Brunch, a nightclub experience taken into the daytime hours. There are many reasons why this party, now in its 13th season, finds success year after year.
Since it is technically a brunch, let’s talk food and drink first:
- Enjoy breakfast favorites like red velvet pancakes, the breakfast calzone, chicken & waffles and avocado toast;
- There are all-day noshes like penne seafood Alfredo, chicken Parmigiana, pizzas and spaghetti carbonara;
- The “Make It Epic” section of the menu shines with over-the-top dishes like a truffle slider trio or buttered-poached king crab Benedict;
- Don’t miss the 1-pound wagyu meatball and the seafood plateau grande, overflowing with an ocean’s bounty of treats;
- That Ultimate Bloody Mary we mentioned comes in a giant goblet with a bottle of Belvedere vodka, with fresh San Marzano tomatoes, lemon juice, aged balsamic, horseradish and spices;
- Go for broke with the $1,095 Chef’s Catch from the bottle menu. It includes an assortment of king crab, snow crab, jumbo shrimp, oysters, lobster cocktail and Kaluga caviar flanked by handcrafted shots made with Avión tequila and Absolut Elyx vodka;
- Bottle presentation parades mean all eyes in the venue are on your group as servers light up the path with sparklers while carrying everything from bottles of brut and rosé to bottles of Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque champagne and Volcán X.A. tequila.
Rounding out the experience is the venue itself—Lavo has an expansive patio that overlooks the Las Vegas Strip, and during the party brunch the lights get real low, strobe lights pierce the air and confetti cannons shoot out rainbows of color.
Thanks to his expansive knowledge of EDM genres, resident DJ Jason Lema keeps his partiers raving into the afternoon with a varied house-music mix. Lavo Party Brunch also puts the visual revelry in guests’ hands by supplying glow sticks, inflatable toys, whistles, glow batons, bubbles, and fun and funky accessories to wear.
Spotted around the venue are costumed performers and sexy dancers, and yes, you are encouraged to get up on your table and dance along with them—remember, this is a party in every sense of the word.
