LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A kidnapping led to a car chase and crash in North Las Vegas, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
Police were initially called at 3:26 p.m. to the 4500 block of East Charleston Boulevard, near Lamb, for a kidnapping incident. Police said a man was armed with a gun and forced a woman into a box truck.
Officers then located the truck and started a car chase.
The crash happened just before 4 p.m. at Lake Mead Boulevard and Pecos Road, with the truck crashing into a wall of an apartment complex. A white box truck crashed off the side of the road, onto the sidewalk.
LVMPD said the man was taken into custody and the woman was located safe.
FOX5 captured video of the white box truck leading officers on a chase before the crash. One person was taken out of the box truck and handcuffed.
Police said two people in a nearby car were involved in the crash. They are stable, according to LVMPD.
RTC reported that northbound lanes of Pecos are blocked for investigation.
Additional details on the chase and subsequent crash weren’t immediately available. FOX5 has reached out to LVMPD for more information.
