LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – 12 apartments east of the Las Vegas Strip were impacted by a fire Tuesday afternoon.
Police said they received a call of a fire at a 3-story apartment building around 2:34 p.m. at 1000 Dumont Road. This is near Maryland Parkway and Desert Inn Road.
Police said they have had a history of large fires here in the past because 3-story apartments usually share a common attic.
Residents are now seeking temporary shelter as the fire hit a minimum of 12 apartments.
Clark County fire officials say they are working to maintain safety and health of firefighters and residents under the 112-degree heat.
Officials said there was one report of smoke inhalation, but not sure of the status.
CCFD said fire is traveling through the attic, and it is not contained. There is no report of foul play.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
