If you are in the mood for brunch, many restaurants offer additions to their Sunday brunch menus, or special brunches for the day.
Bouchon (The Venetian, 702.414.6200) features a prix fixe brunch menu from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with items such as strawberry crepes, with toasted almonds, crème fraîche and Chantilly cream atop or gnocchi with poached Maine lobster, in addition to other brunch favorites like a pastry assortment. A longtime Vegas favorite, Hash House a Go Go (The Linq, 702.254.4646; The Plaza, 702.384.4646), is serving raspberry chocolate chip pancakes and strawberry sangria (order us one while you are there). Brunch at Giada (The Cromwell, 855.442.3271) includes choices like arugula salad, lemon pesto grilled cheese (so yum) and fettuccini with frutti di mare.
An extensive brunch at Veranda (Four Seasons Las Vegas, 702.632.5121) features globally inspired dishes with grill choices like N.Y. strip loin and lamb chop, and an area that is sure to satisfy the children in your party as well. And at STK (The Cosmopolitan, 702.698.7990), you’ll find an extensive brunch menu with Mother’s Day specials, too.
Does the mom in your party prefer to sleep in a tad? Yardbird Southern Table & Bar (The Venetian, 702.297.6541) gives you something special with blueberry upside-down cake, an unusual dessert with lemon cornmeal pound cake, blueberries and ice cream. If you’re looking for flowers and greenery, consider Catch (Aria, 702.590.5757), where the flora-filled tunnel leading to the restaurant will be followed up by excellent dishes such as truffle toast with prosciutto, scrambled eggs and shaved black truffle at brunch and bluefin tuna at dinner. At Lorena Garcia’s Chica (The Venetian, 866.659.9643), grab a drink in the Miami-inspired bar amid the foliage before indulging in lobster relleno with lo macho sauce.
Gordon Ramsay Steak (Paris, 877.346.4642) offers a prix fixe meal with diver scallops, surf and turf, and strawberry Fraisier for dessert.
Get a glass of complimentary chardonnay for moms with the prix fixe menu at Tender Steakhouse + Lounge (Luxor, 702.262.4778), which features a surf and turf entrée with half a stuffed lobster and a Black Angus filet. Veal osso buco is the star of Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak (MGM Grand, 702.891.7318) Mother’s Day prix fixe menu, served with mushroom risotto.
Head a little off the Strip to Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas (4510 Paradise Road, 702.853.2337) for the German beer hall’s celebration. In addition to beer, Mom can order such delicacies as Spargelcremesuppe (cream of asparagus soup), Zitronenhähnchen mit Rizi Bizi (chicken breast with lemon sauce) and Crêpes mit frischen Erdbeeren (warm crêpes stuffed with strawberries). South of the Strip, Twin Creeks Steakhouse (Silverton, 702.263.7777) offers specials like shrimp pesto pasta and berries ’n’ cream panna cotta with shortbread.
And Ethel M Chocolates Factory & Cactus Garden (2 Cactus Drive, Henderson, NV, 702.435.2608) kicks off a season of Chocolate and Mimosa Tasting Experiences starting May 7 and continuing daily, with two sessions on Saturday and Sunday through Aug. 26. During your tasting, you’ll get four pairings with fruit mimosas and luscious Ethel M candies like white vanilla truffles, lemon satin crème and prickly pear chocolate (which is absolutely delightful).
