LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A report from Nevada State Police has provided insight into a deadly motorcycle crash about 21 miles southwest of Goldfield, NV last week.
NSP responded to reports of a crash in the area of westbound State Route 266 and mile marker 26 in Esmeralda County at approximately 1:51 p.m. on June 14. The preliminary investigation indicated that a 2021 blue Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling in the westbound travel lane of State Route 266 approaching mile marker 26.
For unknown reasons, the motorcycle exited the roadway on the right side and entered the north dirt shoulder area. While traveling west on the dirt shoulder, the motorcycle struck a culvert, ejecting the rider.
The motorcycle came to rest on the north dirt shoulder, facing southwest, on its left side. The rider of the motorcycle, Paul Andrew Coddington, a 67-year-old male from Grimsby, United Kingdom, was pronounced dead at the scene.
In 2024, the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated 30 deadly crashes resulting in 37 fatalities.
