LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Clark County School District teachers took a field trip on Wednesday—not with students, but with UNLV professors.
They went to Late Night Trailhead to check out some of the rock formations unique to the Las Vegas Valley and to find ways to add new and exciting lessons that engage students on top of their existing curriculum.
“We really want to focus on, you know, the mountains,” said Dr. Pamela Burnley, UNLV Professor of Geoscience. “What is the story behind the mountains? Why do we have the mountains here?”
The teachers and professors went to Frenchman Mountain yesterday, and tomorrow, they’ll head to the Ice Age Fossil State Park.
