LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police have arrested a suspect in connection with a Monday morning shooting in the east valley.
At approximately 5:28 a.m. yesterday, LVMPD Dispatch received a report of a person being shot on the 2000 block of Peyton Drive. Patrol officers arrived and found a male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside of a house.
Medical personnel were requested and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Patrol officers located a vehicle associated with the call and detained a male occupant, later identified as 25-year-old Isaiah Branch.
Homicide detectives took over the investigation and learned that the victim and Branch had been in an argument, leading Branch to reportedly produce a handgun and shoot the victim. Police said he then fled the house.
Branch was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder involving a deadly weapon. The identification of the deceased, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
