A wildfire in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area has grown to 150 acres, the BLM said Monday.
But by Tuesday morning, minimal smoke was showing from the air, and crews on the ground were finding minimal heat along fire breaks, officials said.
The Bird Springs Fire was reported about 11:30 a.m. Monday seven miles east of Mountain Springs along State Route 160, officials said. The blaze was 30 percent contained, with full containment anticipated by 8 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.
The fire was human-caused and was under investigation, officials said.
No structures were threatened, no injuries were reported and no roads were closed.
About 30 firefighters and four engines were assigned to the fire, officials said.
