LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 21-year-old is accused of open murder for a fatal shooting last year, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says.
Police said the shooting happened on Oct. 22 of last year near Charleston Boulevard and 28th Street. Around 8:07 p.m. that day, officers located a male suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle near an apartment complex.
Medical later arrived and said the male died at the scene.
Investigation by LVMPD’s homicide detectives reveals that the person who was shot arranged a meeting with two individuals and was shot during a drug transaction. Police say both suspects fled on foot from the area before police could arrive.
Police accuse Deaundra Talton as a suspect. He was already in custody at the Clark County Detenction Center on unrelated charges and he was rebooked Monday for open murder with a deadly weapon, Las Vegas police say.
“The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office,” police say.
