For some of the finest Japanese food around, get a table at Kusa Nori, where you’ll find a variety of entrées plus a sushi bar and teppanyaki table in a vibrantly decorated spot—it’s hard to not get in a seafood mood when the decor depicts sea creatures swimming across the walls.
Some of the best options at Kusa Nori start with blue fin tartare, Jidori chicken karage and wagyu gyoza. From there, try everything from sashimi and nigiri to hamachi to sweet shrimp, as well as Vegas rolls like the 3000 LVBLVD, with yuzu Kewpie snow crab and togarashi tataki salmon. The Kusa sushi moriwase features 10 nigiri selections, while the nori sashimi moriwase offers 10 sashimi choices—these are always an excellent way to try a larger variety.
Bigger appetites will revel in robata selections like Angus beef filet, tsukune chicken meatball, Okinawan sweet potato, eryngii mushrooms, onigiri rice balls, lamb, Black Hawk wagyu short ribs and wagyu shabu shabu.
Kusa Nori also features happy hour on the weekends from 4-5:30 p.m. And specifically during race weekend, Kusa Nori is offering special seatings for a special menu, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 17-18. You’ll also find a teppanyaki menu that’s geared to the race. Call 702.676.6965 for reservations.
