LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – An ex-Congressional candidate and former professional wrestler appeared in court on Wednesday morning for the latest hearing in his ongoing murder case.
Daniel Rodimer, who challenged Democratic Rep. Susie Lee in 2020, entered a plea of “not guilty” to a charge of open murder.
Rodimer was identified as a suspect in the murder of 47-year-old Christopher Tapp on Oct. 29, 2023.
On that October night, medical arrived at the scene for service regarding Tapp. Police said he suffered from injuries as a result of a “purported accident,” and later died at the hospital. The Clark County coroner ruled his death as a homicide as a result of “blunt force trauma to the head.”
A grand jury would indict him on Friday, April 26. A witness would testify that she saw Rodimer “tackle” Tapp after Tapp was seen in a room with Rodimer’s stepdaughter and the witness where cocaine was being consumed. The witness said she remembered Rodimer telling Tapp that if he gave his stepdaughter cocaine, he would “f—king kill him.”
Rodimer is due in court again on August 8. He is set to face a jury trial on Feb. 3, 2025.
