LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — California police arrested the suspect in a downtown Las Vegas deadly shooting six months after the shooting occurred.
On Sept. 15, 2023, at 12:15 a.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were called to an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Searles Avenue. Arriving officers found a man who had been shot.
Medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.
A witness told 8 News Now, the victim was seen a few hours earlier sitting on a bench in a nearby parking lot. Metro said the investigation indicated the victim was involved in an argument with another man before he was shot.
Police said witnesses told them they saw a man in dark clothing leave the scene.
Through the investigation, detectives identified Shaun Lee, 52, as the suspect in the case.
California law enforcement took Lee into custody on March 28. He was booked into a San Bernadino area jail for one count of open murder pending extradition to Las Vegas.
A booking photo for Lee was not immediately available.
